Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2016 Detox Diet is Here

It’s that time of year again when we all search for that magic diet tip! Gwyneth Paltrow has just revealed her new detox diet for 2016. In a nutshell she is telling you to avoid everything that tastes good! Joking aside, the actress’s 2016 Goop Detox includes ditching gluten, dairy, red meat, corn, soy, shellfish, white rice, nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, potatoes), caffeine, alcohol and added sugar (and get a colonic). The goal of the detox is not to starve yourself but to rather eat as well as possible, giving your guts a break, while losing a few holiday pounds. So what can you eat during this week long meal plan?

Each day consists of 3 meals, a snack, and a morning Surya Spa Detox Tea.  On the menu are meals like chia pudding, salmon burgers, chickpea and kale curry with brown rice, Detox hot and sour soup, and Soba noodle salad with grilled chicken and miso dressing. Most of the meals actually sound pretty tasty. Gwyneth recommends that if you have trouble cooking on some days, go to a salad bar and get some whole veggies, lean proteins, and olive oil and lemon.

In addition to following this super strict detox diet, Gwyneth encourages you to take your exercise down a notch. Yoga and walking are recommended as well as a nice relaxing sauna session to help get toxins out faster. Sweating is key while detoxing. Also, drink as much water as you can while detoxing.
