Ali Fedotowsky, former bachelorette says “trust your gut” in relationships

We all have the checklist. Whether it’s written down on paper or stored in the back your mind, we all know what we’re looking for in a significant other. Maybe you want someone who’s tall, smart, good-looking, loves dogs etc., Ali Fedotowsky says FORGET IT! The former Bachelorette, blogger, newlywed and mother gave NEW YOU an all-access interview telling everyone, don’t follow the checklist. “Go with your gut in who you like… if your gut is telling you that you shouldn’t date that guy, then don’t stay with them just because they’re perfect on paper.” We caught up with Ali at the Simply Stylist Pop-up for Coppertone’s new Whipped sunscreen where she led a panel discussion on health and beauty. In her exclusive interview with NEW YOU, Ali made it clear that “trusting your gut” is the way to go when it comes to relationships. “There’s so much more to what makes a relationship work than just someone being the person who checks off all the boxes on a piece of paper. You have to match, your personalities have to match and just because someone’s perfect on paper, doesn’t mean they’re perfect for you.” You heard it from the former bachelorette herself, it’s more than what’s on the checklist. Ali was also ecstatic to talk about her little girl Molly, “I want her to know that her brain, and who she is as a person, and her heart is what is valuable in life.” Here at NEW YOU, we think this applies to all women: know that who you are as a person is valuable, and don’t lose sight of that, even in relationships. Thanks, Ali, for helping all of us see the light.
