Carrie Wampler takes on a military role and discusses healthy eating and skincare

Carrie Wampler makes her debut at Sundance with the film “Yellow Birds” where she plays opposite Alden Ehrenreich and Jennifer Aniston. The film depicts the story of two young soliders as they navigate their way from boot camp to the battle grounds of Iraq. Along the way, they meet medic Jenny Smith played by Carrie. To prepare for the role, Carrie went straight to the source. “Well first of all I’m very lucky because I have a friend who’s a master sergeant in the Air Force so I called her up immediately and I had her explain the whole military aspect and how I’d be feeling in my different scenes. She was really a big help to me and also reading the book of course you kinda learn a lot about the military and about this specific story and what they’re facing. I don’t feel like I know everything but I’m really glad that I feel like I’ve learned a lot more about the military and I just want to keep learning because it’s obviously something worth learning about.” In addition to her prepping for this role, Carrie pay much attention to her eating habits and healthy skin routines. “My advice would be everything in moderation as my grandma says but don’t go too drastic with anything. I like to just incorporate fruits and vegetables but still eat your junk because sometimes people go too drastic and it all goes downhill from there!” When it comes to skin care she says, “Wear sunscreen! I wear sunscreen and people make fun of me so much for it because I even wear it in the winter time when I go for runs but the sun’s still out in the winter so I just feel that that’s the best thing to do. Im not saying I have great skin but seriously, don’t damage the skin guys, be made fun of, its ok!”
