JOANNA KRUPA SAYS ANIMALS NEED A VOICE
Posted On May 08, 2017
Housewives of Miami star, Joanna Krupa is very passionate about standing up for the rights of animals. “I have my own animal rights group which is Angels for Animal Rights (AFAR – www.afarnyc.org) and I have done five PETA campaigns including a Seaworld campaign,” she said. “I am a big believer that you have to have a voice for these animals. Their voices are defenseless –they cannot help themselves and it is not fair that we as humans have a voice and are smarter to take advantage of them for profit.” In 2015, the Polish model donned only body paint in support of PETA’s boycott of Seaworld. NEW YOU caught up with Krupa at the 3rd Art for Animals event at the De Rey Gallery in West Hollywood. The event benefited the Eastwood Ranch Foundation. “I love what the whole family does – they are such an inspiration,” she added while referencing the Eastwood family. Krupa says there are numerous ways to volunteer and encourages friends to speak out if they see someone wearing fur. “Help educate them by telling them how this animal was slaughtered,” she implored. “We are all human beings and we all make mistakes but at the end of the day it is about making the right decisions.” When it comes to her health, Krupa is a strong believer of working out, not only to stay in shape but to feel good. “If you feel good about yourself it makes you healthy!” Her favorite ‘pick-me-up’ nutritional drink in the morning is a vegan protein shake made with Acai berries, chai and flax seeds and the pit of an avocado. “It is a good jumpstart in the morning and then I try to stay healthy throughout the day but it is hard as I love French fries, cookies and other naughty foods,” she laughed.
