AS WOMEN WE NEED TO DO MORE SAYS DONATELLA VERSACE

In the fight against AIDS, Donatella Versace feels strongly that women can make a difference. “As women, we cannot stop fighting,” she says. “As women we need to do more. It’s been a long time that our family has been involved. Gianni and I have given and will continue to give and there are so many great people here tonight.” NEW YOU caught up with Donatella at the amfAR New York Gala 2017 in New York last night where she was being honored. Naomi Campbell was on hand to give her the award. “Donatella Versace is my family, my sister, and I would not want to be anywhere else tonight,” said the legendary supermodel. “I am so honored to give her the award tonight. Donatella has been involved with amfAR from the beginning and so has the Elton John Foundation. I am looking forward to my girl getting the award. The awareness is so important!” Donatella is passionate about the organization. “It’s been a long time that our family has been involved,” says Donatella. “Gianni and I have given and will continue to give and there are so many great people here tonight who have done so much as well. I am so touched and honored to receive this award and more honored to be in this room with such incredible people who have raised funds for amfAR. We have come a long way.”
