It’s the start of a new year and that means a majority of us will be trying to make that age-old effort of working out more. Sigh. Well, if you’re looking for inspiration, look no further than the workout methods of choice for some of our favorite celebrities. Here’s how a few are breaking a sweat.

Yoga: This seems to be the model’s go-to workout of choice. Both Gisele Bündchen and Alessandra Ambrosio are huge proponents of the sweat-inducing, body-bending, stress-reducing fitness practice. Celebrity instructor Mandy Ingber is a popular LA-based yoga teacher who has helped shape the famous bodies of clients like Jennifer Aniston, Brooke Shields, and Kate Beckinsale to name just a few.

SoulCycle: Some brides do a spa day before their wedding. Not Hilary Rhoda. The supermodel had her bridesmaids join her for a sweat session at SoulCycle the day before her wedding to former hockey star Sean Avery. Other stars who like to challenge themselves at SoulCyle? Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lawrence, Lena Dunham, and even Lady Gaga have all taken a spin at a recent SoulCycle class.

AKT Inmotion: Created by Celebrity Trainer Amanda Kaiser, the AKT method incorporates a combination of strength training, dance, yoga and plyometrics all into one so you’re never bored with a workout. It requires one to focus on their body movements as they gain strength, agility, flexibility, and stamina. Unfortunately, AKT is currently only available in New York City, East Hampton and Connecticut, so only those celebrities who live on the East Coast or travel there have been able to take advantage of this new workout. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa, and Sophia Vergara are a few of Kaiser’s clients with results to showcase.

Running: Reese Witherspoon is probably one of the most famous celebrity running enthusiasts. Often seen running in LA, the actress was even once famously hit by a car during a run. This didn’t stop her from her favorite exercise, as she is still seen frequently hitting the roads by her home. Singer Ellie Goulding also pounds the pavement and has spoken to Shape and Elle UK about the endorphin release and escape she finds in running. She’s such a fan that she’s completed five half marathons.

Pilates: Lea Michele credits her Scream co-star Emma Roberts for turning her onto the fitness method that focuses on precision, flow, control and breathing. Kerry Washington sang her own praises of the workout in the September issue of Self. “With Pilates, I get to bring my true self. I cry, I laugh. I think, What do I need today?,” Washington said.
