Let’s face it, detox and cleansing diets are no fun. Depriving yourself of many foods for a week or longer is hard, especially if it’s a liquid only diet. However, there are plenty of great foods that you can eat all the time to cleanse the body daily. Dr. Frank Lipman, founder and director of Eleven-Eleven Wellness Center in New York City, shares foods that help cleanse and detox the body every day.

Dark Leafy Greens

Dark leafy greens are one of the most energizing foods available. They are full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and they receive their energy from the sun- so when you eat them, you’re essentially adding the sun’s energy to your body!

Sulfur-Rich Foods

Sulfur-Rich foods, such as onions, garlic, and cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower) are known to support your liver with detoxification properties.

Daikon

In Chinese medicine, daikon (a radish) is believed to be very beneficial to anyone with excess dampness in their body- which in western medicine can translate to yeast, candida as well as excess mucus. You can buy Daikon at a farmers market or Asian market.
