In a society that often defines women by their age, Tricia Connor Jackson is rewriting the narrative. At 66, she has transformed her life from a high-powered corporate executive to a successful model and actress, proving that it’s never too late to pursue new dreams.
From Boardrooms to Backstage
Tricia’s journey began in Washington State, where she grew up in modest circumstances. At 18, she moved to Missouri to attend Southeast Missouri State University, supporting herself through scholarships and campus jobs. Her passion for marketing and merchandising led her to a flourishing career with industry giants like Procter & Gamble, Stride Rite, Nestlé, and Naturalizer, where she became Vice President of Sales for the U.S.
Despite her corporate success, Tricia never forgot her roots. She established two scholarships at her alma mater and served as a mentor and keynote speaker, earning the Alumni Merit Award—only the second woman in the university’s history to receive it for business leadership.
Personal Trials and Triumphs
Tricia’s personal life was marked by both joy and hardship. She paused her career to raise three children, returning to the workforce 12 years later. However, her second marriage turned abusive, leading her to make a courageous decision.
“I stayed for nine years only because I was ashamed of another divorce,” Tricia recalls. “I didn’t want to disrupt my kids’ and grandkids’ lives. But I realized the stress would kill me if I continued to endure his abuse. So I boldly left in May 2020, at the height of the pandemic.”
With nothing but her savings and a Ford Explorer, Tricia embarked on a new chapter, eventually settling in Spokane, WA, to spend time with her aging parents. She worked as a substitute teacher, finding solace in giving back to her community.
A Chance Encounter Sparks a New Career
Life took an unexpected turn when a stranger at a bar suggested she try modeling and acting. Intrigued, Tricia uploaded photos and videos to a talent app for $199. What followed was a complete career pivot.
“I gave myself a $10,000 budget to try it for a year. I lost it all—but the gigs kept coming,” she says. “Now, I’ve worked with over 290 brands in skincare, beauty, health, and fitness, and been in over 37 films in lead and supporting roles.”
Her projects include the Amazon MGM pilot Shopping Court with Bianca Del Rio and the film Barked Up, where she plays a fashion mogul. Tricia’s transition wasn’t glamorous at first; she lived in motels and a small room in Montebello, California. But her belief in herself never wavered.
“I used to sell products. Now I am the product,” she laughs. “And it turns out, I can do it!”
Shopping Court premieres THURSDAY, JUNE 5th @ 7 pm EST/ 4 pm PST.
Embracing Age and Authenticity
Tricia met her current partner, Mark Steilen, in Spokane. A seasoned entertainment professional, Mark has been a pillar of support in her new career. Together, they navigate the industry with shared passion and mutual respect.
For Tricia, age is not a limitation—it’s a superpower. “My life is a tapestry,” she says. “Some parts are beautiful, some are awful, but together, it’s mine. And I’m proud of it.”
She embraces her age, challenging societal norms that often sideline older women. “So many women are told, Don’t say your age, you won’t get hired. I say, ‘Be proud of it!’”
A Message of Empowerment
Tricia’s story is a testament to resilience and the power of reinvention. She encourages women who feel stuck or uncertain to take control of their narratives.
“Stop hiding. Stop apologizing for your story,” she urges. “We are the lucky ones who’ve lived long enough to reinvent ourselves. You get 20, maybe 30 more years—make them joyful, make them matter.”
Her definition of success has evolved. “My success will never come at the cost of my happiness. I don’t want fame if it robs me of peace. I want balance, joy, and meaningful relationships. That’s success.”
Continuing to Inspire
Tricia’s modeling and acting career continues to flourish. Her upcoming projects and collaborations with major brands showcase her versatility and dedication. She remains committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, incorporating running, weight training, and yoga into her routine.
Through her journey, Tricia Connor Jackson exemplifies that it’s never too late to pursue new passions, embrace authenticity, and live life on one’s own terms.
