Aly Raisman and Colton Underwood on the importance of a balanced diet

Aly Raisman says boyfriend, Colton Underwood encourages her to try different foods. “Some of his combinations of food are little crazy but they are so healthy,” says the gold medalist gymnast. “Tell them what you had for breakfast yesterday,” she tells him. “I mixed oatmeal, egg whites, brown sugar, and cottage cheese together,” responded the NFL player. Raisman added that he also suggested she try avocado, cottage cheese, and salt and pepper together. “It was delicious!” she said. “You have to try something different sometimes.” NEW YOU caught up with the pair at the Gold Meets Golden event this weekend in Los Angeles to talk about health. “Just being healthy and active in today’s society is very important,” says Underwood. “It is all about balance,” added Raisman. “If you want a piece of cake, have a piece of cake. I am obsessed with avocado right now.” She also said that people never believe her when she tells them she has carbs with every meal. “Your energy levels are down if you don’t have carbs,” added Underwood. “They are a necessity in a diet.” As for their respective workouts, the couple acknowledged that they are very different, but they do try to help each other out at times.
