Eat More, Weigh Less

From childhood we’re all taught that three square meals a day is the proper eating regimen, but over the years research has proven otherwise. Experts suggest that “nibbling” or eating small meals throughout the day is more efficient on the body than eating a standard three meals. Studies show that people who eat more than three times a day typically weigh less than those who stick to a Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner schedule.   The pure act of eating and digesting increases your resting metabolic rate, the number of calories your body burns just to support basic functions, which is why this theory is plausible. However, it is important to be aware of your calorie intake; just because you are eating more often, doesn’t mean you can increase the number of calories you are consuming daily. Maintaining a steady calorie intake and consuming your meals steadily throughout the day may be what your body needs in order to reach your weight loss goals.
