If You’re Going To Be a Stay-at-Home Mom Be Like Her
Posted On Jul 31, 2017
What do you think when you hear the phrase “stay-at-home mom”?
Probably a friendly mother of three who owns a minivan with a husband who works a nine-to-five, or the highly educated former career woman now directing all her ambition and intelligence into finding the perfect kind of juice box and organic applesauce.
However, research shows that both of these imageries are completely off. Increasingly, stay-at-home mothers are looking more diverse than the juice box aisle in Trader Joe’s. A stay-at-home mom may be a tattooed biker, an active mommy blogger, or the CEO of her own company, but there’s one thing they’ll all have in common: a deep desire to be there for every moment of their babies’ lives.
So toodaloo to Tuesday’s trip to Trader Joe’s because today’s stay-at-home moms are…
The Earthy Mother
This mom is very particular about what she feeds her family, so she spends her days organically growing fresh fruits and vegetables. She may also dabble in a little gardening to fill the home with fresh flowers.
The Artsy Mommy
Being a stay-at-home mom seems to spark creativity and inspiration – whether it’s building a DIY nursery or selling handmade jewelry on Etsy, this mom always has a project going on.
The Business-y Mom
The number of mom-owned businesses is increasing, as more and more mothers are becoming CEOs of their own companies. And we’re not just talking arts and crafts – mothers are increasingly starting businesses in web design, marketing, social media coaching, and more. No doubt, all moms work hard, but this mother works tirelessly to provide a good life for her children. Imagine running a business while running a family too. She’s a tough cookie!
The Techy Mama
Nap time is ideal for this internet-savvy mom! She has her laptop stored right beside her nursing pillow with the baby’s pacifier arms-length away. This high-tech mama has her own blog, in which she details her daily life online, sharing stories and tips about single parenting, adoption, homeschooling and more. Some popular blogs are Enjoying the Small Things, Mom Blog Society, and Cool Mom Picks.
If you are or were to be a stay-at-home mom, what kind of mommy would you be?
