When it comes to finding that energy to leap across the stage, Principal Dancer, James Whiteside turns to eating lots of pasta. NEW YOU caught up with the dancer at the American Ballet Theater Holiday Benefit last night in Los Angeles to talk about health. “Health is so often related to beauty,” said the dancer. “In a way, you have to realize that they are not quite the same. You have to be wise and know what is right for you.” Born in Fairfield, Connecticut, Whiteside began his training at age nine at the D’Valda & Sinco Dance and Music Center. In 2009, he became Principal Dancer of the Boston Ballet. In September 2012, Whiteside joined the American Ballet Theater as a Soloist and was named Principal Dancer in October 2013. He will be performing in The Nutcracker in Costa Mesa, California on December 10 and 14 this Holiday season.
