SHARON STONE GRACES THE COVER OF NEW YOU MAGAZINE’S SUMMER ISSUE

The 55-year-old bombshell shares her secrets to looking and feeling beautiful at any age: “There’s a sexuality to having imperfections…It’s sensual.”

SHARON STONE is the picture of enduring glamour looking sexy, radiant and more vibrant than ever at her NEW YOU magazine cover shoot (shot by renowned fashion photographer Fadil Berisha).

ONLY in the summer issue of NEW YOU, the premiere quarterly devoted to the future of beauty and anti-aging, the free-spirited Hollywood bombshell shares her secrets to enjoying life and staying healthy, happy and beautiful—inside and out.

Highlights from interview:

On taking charge of your life as you age: Realize that when you are “middle aged” you have a chance for a whole second career, another love, another life. You may be sick of what you did the first half of your life, but you don’t just have to walk around and play golf or do nothing. We’re too young for that. It’s not like fifty is the new thirty. It’s like fifty is the new chapter. We know so much at this age, and people realize we’re the ones with experience. We’re a very colorful generation that is leading once again.

On embracing the physical changes that come along with aging: “People are afraid of changing; that they’re losing something. They don’t understand that they are also gaining something. I thought I lost the deep vortex on my eyelid that you have when you’re younger, but I gained almost a kind of beautiful abyss. As I lost the fullness in my face, I got in these great cheekbones.

Her take on plastic surgery: “If you have things that you want to fix, you should go right ahead and fix them. I don’t think there is anything wrong with cosmetic surgery at all. I think it’s great. But I don’t think it’s alright to distort yourself. You can’t treat an illness with cosmetic surgery, and that’s why it would be great if there were qualified therapists in plastic surgeons’ offices, and that people would go to a therapeutic meeting before plastic surgery. I think that should be part of the FDA requirement.

Why she decided against a facelift: “I can’t tell you how many doctors try to sell me a facelift. I’ve even gone as far as having someone talk me into it, but when I went over and looked at pictures of myself, I thought, What are they going to lift? Yes, I have come close— but, frankly, I think that in the art of aging well there’s this sexuality to having those imperfections. It’s sensual.”

On feeling sexual in this stage of life:” As women, we understand our bodies, and there’s a blossoming that occurs because we are not hungry for it. We’re hungry for gourmet meals instead of the fast food. We bring to life a more expansive understanding of life, ourselves, and others. We are more generous and assertive.

Her philosophy for healthy living: “It begins with a state of mind. I think that many people try to make everything as difficult as they possibly can. You should try to take the philosophy of: What if it’s just easy? If you give up all the resis-tance and go ahead and forgive, resolve your issues, open your heart, stay in your compassion, sleep when you are supposed to sleep, eat when you are supposed to eat, exercise when you are supposed to exercise, show up on time for your jobs, keep your agreements, and live in your truth, you will have a healthy life.”

MARTHA STEWART COVER OF NEW YOU’S SPRING ISSUE, SAYS: “70 IS THE NEW 50!”

The 71-year-old powerhouse shares her secrets to “successful aging” and gracefully surviving the “curveballs” of life

If you think life is over at any age, think again.

Martha Stewart, the 71-year-old powerhouse behind Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, is as gorgeous and glam as ever posing for the cover of NEW YOU magazine’s Spring issue, on newsstands nationwide April 23.

Embodying power, beauty and everything that culminates “successful aging,” Martha opens up to NEW YOU, the premiere quarterly magazine devoted to beauty and anti-aging. Here, she shares her life achievements and regrets, advise on planning ahead and aging gracefully in spite of the many “curveballs” life can through at you.

Highlights from the interview include:

On “a new generation” in aging:  “Seventy is nothing like the seventy of twenty or forty years ago.  We have a new generation. I don’t have a name for the generation but I would say that seventy is the new fifty! Not everyone wants to retire, and very few people want to slow down.”

Martha’s advise for successful aging: “Each decade has specific requirements, as I explain in my book (Living the Good Life: A Practical Guide to Caring For Yourself and Others). Take for example the advice I received from Carolina Herrera. She was at my house one day, and we were all eating popovers, she asked if we knew that no matter your age, your waist should measure the same as your head.  So, I got a tape measure and my guests and I started to measure our heads and waists. Guess who was the only one in the room that it was true of? Carolina, and she knew it.  It is absolutely the truth. It’s imperative to have a good diet that keeps you healthy. Maintaining a tiny waist is a very important factor in successful aging. “

On thinking ahead and taking care of yourself: “In your forties, you should start thinking about the rest of your life and how you are going to approach it. Start making plans. By your fifties, you should have a good doctor and wellness routine set up.”

On surviving life’s curveballs: “I’ve had my share of curveballs and I’m getting pretty mad. I’ve had enough. There are many things I want to do with out the distraction of curveballs, Maybe, I’m going to give up baseball!”

On achieving success later in life: “Rebuilding is a lot harder than building. I’ve learned that. It’s the excitement of that first success that is so phenomenal that you want to keep building on original successes. You have to approach something new as a build-on to what you’ve already done. Don’t think of it as a second act. There is only one time around the track, and you are on that track the minute you’re born.”

Martha’s can’t-live-without beauty product: “Unlimited amounts of very good moisturizer, with sunblock.”

On life regrets: “Just that I haven’t had more children. But my daughter has two babies now, so the family is growing….Family is very important. Adopted or accumulated—very, very important.

COURTENEY COX GRACES THE COVER OF NEW YOU MAGAZINE’S DEBUT ISSUE

NEW YOU magazine, the premiere quarterly consumer magazine devoted to the latest beauty and anti-aging trends and technology, debuts on newsstands nationwide January 7 with Courteney Cox posing for the cover of its premiere issue. ONLY in NEW YOU, Courteney speaks candidly about her pursuit of ever lasting beauty.

Highlights from the interview include:

On feeling her most beautiful: “I feel the best after I’ve worked out, when I have no make-up on and my skin is flushed.”

On botox and trying other anti-aging treatments: “You know what, I’m game for anything.  I’m very open to trying to prolong the inevitable…I’m a big laser believer I really think they are the wave of the future. I just did Ulthera which is supposed to produce collagen.  And I’m about to do Fraxel, which will get rid of all these brown spots off my arms, chest and face.”

On the pressures of beauty in Hollywood: “There’s so many beautiful people and there’s so much pressure you put on yourself but David [Arquette] has always said to me, you’ve got to accept we’re all gonna age and just do it gracefully. And the sooner you accept, the easier your life is.”

Her daily beauty tips: “Moisturizing and drinking water, and I don’t drink near enough.  I’m on this kick where I’m gonna try to drink 64 ounces a day.  It’s so hard.  I can get the first 32 down, no problem.  That second bottle is tough but when I do, I feel different.”

Her beauty icons:  “Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Meryl Streep and Sophia Loren. Sophia Loren is just so gorgeous and sexy and exotic. I wish I looked more like that but I don’t have an exotic bone in my body…[Helen Mirren] is so sexy. You know when people say you get better with age, that’s the perfect example.  She’s just a bad ass in every way.  She could rival the most gorgeous 30 year old.  She’s just so confident, and let’s face it, it’s always about confidence.”

Her favorite red carpet moment:  “My favorite red carpet moment that I’ve ever had was when I was nominated for a Golden Globe. I was wearing a really tight and beautiful Victoria Beckham dress.  Genevieve did my makeup and Chris Mcmillan did my hair.  But it literally was one of those days where Chris goes okay, I’m going to Jen’s house, I’ll be back. He literally came and just put in two clips and that was it- gorgeous. I was also Tracy Anderson methoded out. I remember it was raining, and David was really sweet, he was holding an umbrella for me. That was a good time.”
