And Just Like That, Kristin Davis back on the red carpet with glamorous tucked-back waves

Kristin Davis returned to the SATC world in chic fashion at the grand premiere of “And Just Like That…” on Wednesday evening in NYC with help from celebrity hairstylist Anthony Campbell. Campbell created a “clean, sleek, tucked-back waves” style using Better-Not Younger products to complement her custom-designed Jason Wu gown. Campbell was inspired by Wu, who thought the style would pair well with his creation, and the “sculptural ruching” in the dress.

To get the look, he started by spraying Kristin’s hair with Better-Not Younger No Remorse Heat Protection and Taming Spray to keep her hair moisturized and protected against frizz, thanks to a non-greasy formula featuring Vitamin E, and Argan and Avocado Oils. Next he applied Better-Not Younger Lift Me Up Hair Thickener from roots to ends, then blew hair dry. “I wanted it a bit more sleek on top and voluminous through the bottoms where the wave was, so I kept the top flat and used a round brush to give it more volume in the ends, rolling them off the brush to give them a little bend.”

For extra volume, he applied the Better-Not Younger Fresh Start Scalp Renewing Dry Shampoo, then set the wave with a curling iron. “To get the wave, I run it through and then twist the iron away from the face. And then I take the iron out and I twist it away from the face again and just flick the end with the iron to give it a little bend — not a ringlet or curl.”

He then used a bobby pin to tuck one side of Kristin’s hair behind her ear and anchor it in place for the evening, finishing off the look with a very light application of Better-Not Younger Hair Redemption Restorative Butter Mask to tame frizz and add extra sleekness and shine. “Kristin has thick hair and styling creams don’t tend to hold for the night — they just sink in and absorb. This is heavy enough that it will lightly sit on the hair and keep it consistently clean for the evening. I rubbed a tiny bit on my fingers — about a tenth of what I would use for a traditional styling cream — and just gently dusted the hair to get the little flyaways down and keep them down for the night.” Bonus: The plant-based butter blend of Mango, Macadamia, Cupuaçu, Murumuru and Avocado also nourish and add shine as the mask tames frizz.

It’s that flexibility that makes Better-Not Younger one of Campbell’s preferred brands. “The products do exactly what they say, but it’s also a versatile line. I was able to come up with a couple of new ways to use them tonight.”
