Oriah Mirza has made a name for herself as a respected healer, podcaster, producer, media entrepreneur, and conscious lifestyle designer. For more than two decades, she (alongside partner Riz Mirza) has cultivated a devoted global following across wellness and personal transformation. From her new magazine Chakra Cozy, her hit podcasts Lady O Unfiltered and The Mystics, and her sought after Sacred Earth Retreats, Oriah has made it her mission to bring beauty, love, and light to all whom she encounters. For her, radiance is something that begins within. We wanted to know all about the rituals, mindset, and beauty philosophy behind her youthful glow— and of course, the secrets she swears by.
What’s your secret to glowing skin? What does your everyday regimen look like?
True radiance and glow aren’t manufactured in a lab, as you know; it is an inside-out cellular reflection of a peaceful, balanced life, an unburdened nervous system, and real hydration. When your adrenals are constantly pumping cortisol, your skin shows every drop of that inflammation and constriction. My everyday regimen is simple. I rely on pure botanical oils, beef tallow, and a small organic loofa, ice or cold-water splashes to tone the vagus nerve, lots of mineral-rich spring water, and getting early morning sunlight directly onto my bare face if I can before I stare at a screen or start being very active. If you aren’t clearing your emotional debris, the most expensive jar of cream is just a luxury band-aid. You have heard that phrase, ‘you’re beautiful on the inside too?’ That is real.
You’ve said beauty starts long before you open your medicine cabinet. What does that actually look like in your daily life?
It looks like fiercely protecting the boundary between my energy field and the collective noise. It means waking up and breathing all the way into my belly before looking at a screen, cooking real food for my family, laughing until my stomach aches or singing at the top of my lungs, and saying no to anything that compromises my sovereignty. Beauty is shown through pure life-force energy. When you live in alignment with your truth, you aren’t leaking your power, and that containment creates an undeniable, magnetic vitality.
You’re a “less is more” person when it comes to products. What does that philosophy look like on your bathroom shelf?
My shelf is completely stripped of the twelve-step consumer matrix. You will find cold-pressed jojoba, organic raw beef tallow, or rosehip oil, pure distilled rosewater, and a simple gua sha stone. Our ancestors didn’t need fifty synthetic chemicals to maintain their skin barrier. If I can’t recognize the botanical ingredients as real food for the cells, it doesn’t go near my face. The skin is an organ of absorption, not a trash can for commercial trends.
What are some “trends” that you feel are getting too much, perhaps undeserved, attention, and what products and rituals do you feel aren’t getting enough love?
The endless obsession with chemical peels, aggressive over-exfoliation, and freezing facial expressions with neurotoxins is getting far too much worship. We have normalized paralyzing our sacred expressive channels out of a terror of aging; I have done these things, but in moderation. What truly deserves love is ancient, primal medicine—things like somatic facial massage, lymphatic drainage, sweating by a fire or in a sauna, sound frequency therapy, and honest-to-god uninterrupted sleep. My go-to medi spa treatment is a medical-grade microneedling session every three months for cellular turnover and collagen enhancement. I have seen great benefits with that, and I go to Youthfill MD Westlake in California. I have been religiously going to Veronica Ross RNC office for treatments for many years. I have tried PRP and many other services over the years, and I wasn’t really impressed. This one was the most visually rewarding.

If someone was building their clean beauty and skincare routine from the ground up, what would you suggest for them?
Start with elimination before you buy a single new bottle. Throw out artificial fragrances, endocrine disruptors, and harsh, stripping cleansers that wreck your microbiome. Replace them simply with a gentle oil cleanser that protects your natural lipid barrier, a pure floral hydrosol to hydrate, a nutrient-dense botanical oil or ancestral balm to seal it in, and a daily grounding practice where your bare feet touch the soil. Don’t overstimulate your facial skin. A simple exfoliation with a cleanser made of pure, simple ingredients, with a light soak in tallow or jojoba oil, goes a long way. The skin doesn’t suffocate, isn’t traumatized, and can repair this way. Focus especially on the nose and mouth/chin area, where cells build up. And between the eyebrows-essentially…the T-zone. If you have a skin condition, look into your diet. Find homeostasis with your gut; little or no alcohol and no smoking will go a long way, along with hydration with electrolytes. I also take supplements for cellular building. I especially like Dr. Mark Hyman’s products and Pure Labs, and Dr. Berg’s, especially for hydration. After I got on a hormone protocol for my perimenopause, being 53 years old, it was imperative to stop the breakouts. I also had to eat less sugar and less inflammatory, highly processed, or fried foods. I wanted to make sure my gut wasn’t working too hard to process toxins that would erupt on my face if I couldn’t detox fast enough. My skin cleared up immediately. All of these things, in moderation and balanced to your own system, are the key to a solid foundation; your skin will start to clear, and then the cleansing is the last part. Being an empath, I realized I had to be more sensitive to my consumption and stress levels, and once I became more respectful to my sensitive system, my skin rewarded me.
You talk a lot about nervous system regulation in your work. Does calming the nervous system have a visible effect on the skin or how we age?
Without question. Chronic fight-or-flight constricts the micro-capillaries, starving the skin cells of oxygen and essential nutrients while breaking down collagen through continuous oxidative stress. When you down-regulate the nervous system, micro-circulation returns, cellular repair switches on, and the jaw, brow, and neck naturally unclench. You literally stop wearing the tension of survival on your face. When I am really stressed (which happens more often than I want), I stop, stretch, go outside, go to the gym, dance hard, or I make music. I like EDM trance festival music. Shamanic-Viking genre, which represents me. It uplifts me, and I forget what I was mad about.
What is an everyday, practical habit that can help someone build a more conscious, present life?
Before you react to an email, a text message, or a stressful moment, pause and drop your awareness down into your pelvic floor and feet. Take one deep breath and ask yourself if you are actually unsafe right now, or if your nervous system is simply running an old survival script. That five-second pause shatters the automated loop of the matrix and returns you straight into your sovereign seat. Drinking water when you’re stressed helps you stop and assess if you’re taking care of your body/vessle. I also track whether I took all my supplements or if I feel I need more of one than the others. Lately, because I have been working nonstop, I have been taking magnesium glycinate, and it helps calm me. Every supplement I take is usually a compound with another corresponding vitamin or mineral to help with absorption. Helps it be easily assimilated in your body.
Between your podcast Lady O Unfiltered, your upcoming TV series Oriah’s Nest, and Chakra Cozy Magazine, you’re finding new ways to bring your philosophy on wellness and conscious living into people’s everyday lives. What made you want to build all of these creative outlets, and how do they each let you say something different?
Because we are multidimensional beings, and one single medium can never hold the full spectrum of the human experience. Lady O Unfiltered is the raw, unapologetic fire where I break illusions, talk shadow-work, contact, and cut through spiritual bypass. I also do color readings and do psychic answers to live chat questions. Oriah’s Nest is visual storytelling and sanctuary-building, showing the tangible art of conscious living in the home, which has been bursting through me since I was young, when I built my first sanctuary in my closet at 7 years old… Chakra Cozy Magazine is the soft landing pad where seasonal living, beauty, art, and home meet consciousness. They are simply different doorways into the exact same room: remembering who you are. It is like an octopus, with various tentacles to help me access or touch people’s lives with what is inside me. I am a Taurus, Leo rising, Leo moon and I vibe really high. They called it hyper when I was growing up; I call it intelligence, haha. No shame in that; I am blessed, and so I don’t want to waste what God has given me. I didn’t come to this planet to be quiet and hold back who I am. I feel this is my last time on Earth, since I believe in reincarnation. So I plan to feel it all and do it all. I am supremely grateful that there is now less trauma in my life than ever before.
Tell us about Sacred Earth Retreats and what led you and your partner Riz to create these nervous-system-resetting getaways.
For over a decade, Riz and I held space at Red Eagle Ranch in Malibu, watching thousands of people arrive carrying years of accumulated armor and deep burnout. We realized that true transformation requires stepping out of the synthetic matrix and onto high-vortex earth grids where the veil is thin. We created Sacred Earth Retreats to marry direct trance spirit channeling from Riz with deep shamanic integration, fire music, and somatic trauma release from me. It is a space where you don’t have to perform; you just come home to yourself at various international, ancient, vortex-rich sites where the ground and energy are sacred from thousands of years of shamanic practice. Take Sedona, Stonehenge, and Egypt, for example. People’s lives are changed. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, triggering cortisol, I encourage people to focus on what you can feel that is good in front of you- what can you create or go visit to help you feel present and centered in a chaotic world. You can find grounding anywhere; you bring the magic to open yourself up to the magic that is already there.
After two decades in this space, what does living consciously mean to you now? And what’s one thing you hope people take away from everything you’re creating?
Living consciously means no longer abandoning yourself to fit into someone else’s comfort zone. It is living with radical honesty, grounded presence, and fierce self-trust. If there is one thing I hope people take away from my work, it is that you do not need to be fixed because you were never broken to begin with. You just need the courage to strip away the illusions, trust your inner knowing, and step fully onto your own throne. I used to believe the religious ideologies that you were born a sinner, and you have to work to remove your sin. That was a very illogical and stressful way to live. Guilt and shame are not good feelings; you never feel your own grace. I think there was a misrepresentation of how people interpret these religious concepts. I believe it is about treating your body as a temple, and if that is the case, then being respectful and activating good, non-shameful, non-guilt-ridden beliefs and emotions is imperative for self-growth and a higher vibration of living. To experience yourself as a graceful being, that is the highest level of godliness; whatever your god is, find one that makes you feel good and helps you live peacefully in your grace. That is the ultimate beauty routine, and the truth never goes out of style. You will always be glowing.
