Gleb Savchenko is dancing right out of lockdown and spicing up the digital cover of Mr. Warburton Magazine this month. Savchenko shares his tips on health and fitness routines during lockdown and what’s in store for his future.

“It’s been kind of a journey,” said Dancing With the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko when speaking about his experience of the rollercoaster year that was 2020.

“I actually love to cook and was on a show in the UK called Celebrity Masterchef where professionals judge your cooking skills so that was really nerve wracking! However, when I don’t have the time to cook, like when it’s during a season of DWTS, I need something quick and convenient to eat. Icon meals send me ready to eat meals which are really fresh, healthy and nutritious but of course tasty too.”

“2021 has started off great, and I’m looking forward to new opportunities and new projects,” Savchenko says. On top of staying in tip-top shape and spending time with his children, he also hosts Zoom classes on Sundays, which he promotes through his Instagram page. “I’m teaching online dance classes approximately 4 times a week, I also go to the gym most days and I have two daughters who I’m always running around after and keep me very active.”

The 37-year-old dancer/choreographer started dancing when he was only eight and has had quite the storied career; winning his first professional international championship when he was only 14 and being crowned the National Australian Professional Latin American Champion, having won four major dance titles in Australia.

Gleb Savchenko mentioned, “He is ready for Dancing with the Stars to broaden its horizons.” The 37-year-old Russian dancer is advocating for the US dance competition series to include same-sex pairs — as the Australian and the UK versions have. “Last season when Johnny Weir got on the show I was like, ‘Johnny, you HAVE to be my partner, but they ended up not doing it. They’ve done it before in Australia with Courtney Act and in the UK with Nicola Adams and they were both amazing!”

As far as whether we’ll see him next season for DWTS he says, “I hope I will, but you never know. I’m pretty sure I’m coming back and I’m excited.”
