Are you one of those people who wake up every morning with every intention to go to the gym after work until you actually get to the end of the work day and realize you’re just not feeling it?

I get it, it’s a challenge trying to fit in a full gym work out after having a rough day at work. Run to the kitchen for dinner? Yes please! But the last thing on your mind is running on a treadmill. As technology advances, so do our chances of remaining fit.

There was a time when consistent gym workouts were the only way to get that summer body, but now, fitness apps are offering a variety of micro-workouts that are tailored specifically to doing it in the comfort of your own home.

These apps offer a wide variety of workouts ranging in duration and complexity so whether you’re a fitness junkie or a beginner who has no idea where to start, you’re able to find the perfect workout. In order for you to maximize the results of these mini-workouts, it’s vital to work twice as hard as you would if doing a longer workout. You also have to ensure that you go at the same pace or higher throughout the entire time in order to get the best results.

  • High Knees

This is a great cardio exercise that gets the heart pumping and also improves flexibility in the lower limbs if done regularly.

  • Reverse Lunges

This exercise targets the muscles in your thighs, calves, and buttocks.

  • Squats

Not only do squats help to build up muscles and strength, but it also burns fat, tones your entire body, and improves circulation.

  • Planking

This is one of the best exercises you can do for your core because it builds isometric strength and helps to sculpt your waistline and improve your posture.
