It’s no secret that a diet high in sodium is a big health no-no. Too much salt is directly associated to high blood pressure and hypertension and is very dehydrating. As a runner and yogi I am always drinking lots of water; but how do you get the flavor in your cooking without salt? Enter, Salt for Life Sea Salt Blend!

Salt for Life contains 70% less sodium than regular salt and can be used the same ways. Emblazoned boldly on the container is a statement that reads “For an Active Lifestyle,” which clearly piqued my interest. The company recommends using it to cook with or sprinkled on top of your favorite foods rather than tasting it solo when judging flavor. Of course out of curiosity I tried a little on my finger. It lacked the typical “salt” flavor but wasn’t horrible. However, I was pleasantly surprised when using it to cook. I was able to achieve the flavor I was going for as if I was using traditional table salt and didn’t find that I had to use any more or less than usual. Since this product naturally contains 70% less sodium, that was a major plus. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking to lower their daily sodium intake and live a longer, healthier, more active lifestyle.
