The general upsides of yoga, from stress relief to enhanced flexibility are widely recognized, yet the specific benefits can differ from pose to pose. Those of us who are curious about the practice, but not ready to invest in the membership can take it one step at a time.  The “Cobra” (a.k.a Bhujangasana) is a simple yoga move that is known for its easing effect on aches and pains, stress, anxiety, and even depression. It can also help improve digestion and stimulate circulation.

 

How To (provided by life.gaiam.com):

–       Lie on your stomach with your arms bent, elbows toward the body, and palms down in front of the shoulders.

–       Inhale and raise your head, neck and back as you straighten your arms. You can bend your head back or look straight ahead.

–       Stay in that position for 10 seconds, and then lower yourself to the ground as you exhale.
