Meet Nicole Munoz- Actor In First NFT Series, GenZeroes

Known for her previous roles in Van Helsing, Once Upon a Time, and The 100, Nicole Munoz is returning to her Sci-fi roots in the new series, GenZeroes. Among the cast and crew including Paul “Big Show” Wight, Richard Harmon, Tahmoh Penikett, Bethany Brown, and Kandyse McClure were a few familiar faces from her Van Helsing Days.

We sat down with Nicole to chat about reuniting with the Van Helsing “Dream Team”, how she achieves her gorgeous skin, and prioritizing self care.

1. Thanks so much for chatting with us! You play Vika in GenZeroes. The series takes place in a post apocalyptic world where the remainder of humankind is split into 10 different factions. Which faction would you be a part of, and why?

A) Aurora Clan! Most definitely. I may be a bit biased. I hear the people in that faction are pretty cool. Though the climate they’re living in isn’t exactly my first pick, I do appreciate the aesthetic.

2. What else can you tell us about GenZeroes and your role?

A) GenZeroes is the first ever NFT-integrated live-action series. Don’t ask me to explain NFT’s. The GenZeroes website does a good job of doing that though.
I play Vika, Bishops daughter. Always right. Probably stronger too. The dynamic is quite similar to my real life one with Aleks Paunovic.

3. How was it reuniting with some of your Van Helsing family for this project?

A) It’s the best feeling. A family reunion. It allowed for room to play and grow together because the team had done such an amazing job creating a supportive environment. Not only was it a cast reunion but many crew and BTS members as well. ‘Dream Team’ is an understatement. Also, I was very happy to be able to work in the sci-fi genre once again.

4. Your skin is gorgeous! Do you have any secrets you can share with us? What is your go-to skin care routine?

A) Back when we were filming Van Helsing it was Jennifer Kaminski, our makeup head of department who taught me the importance of a simple routine and sunscreen. Now I stick to my routine of face wash, toner, serum and moisturizer twice a day. My secret is I don’t do it everyday…. But it’s the thought that counts. Drinking lots of water goes a long way too, for skincare and for mental health. It’s all about working from the inside out.

5. How do you prioritize self-care with your busy schedule?

A) I find the two go hand in hand. It’s important to incorporate self-care into my day-to-day life because when I feel my best is when I will deliver my best. Self care can look like many things, a rest, a workout, a journaling session, cleaning up my home, the list goes on… Different things for different days. The more you prioritize this the easier it will be to hear yourself and understand what you might need.

6. Is there anything else you’d like to leave the NEW YOU readers with?

A) Thank you for reading along! Feel free to follow myself and the GenZeroes team on our socials for updates as they come!
