NEW YOU Beauty Tip: Don’t dig into your makeup archives.
Do you use all of your makeup, everyday? We all have a collection of items in our makeup drawer that we use only occasionally. Occasionally might be better translated into never. Most cosmetic manufactures don’t include expiration dates on their packaging, however, most beauty products do have a shelf life. While not necessarily dangerous, expired makeup can lead to skin irritations, acne, and infections.
Here’s a quick cheat sheet reference to the shelf life of the most common beauty products:
Mascara and liquid eyeliner: 3 months
Eye Shadow: up to 2 years
Concealer and Foundation: up to 12 months
Lipstick: up to 2 years
Eyeliner and lip pencils: Up to 2 years
