Review: Urban Island Escape Treatment

New York City is technically an island, but it is not necessarily the picturesque place I think about when I want to escape. The Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, the Urban Island Escape Treatment brought me one step closer.

Each suite has all the necessary essentials for the treatment, including a rain shower, a vanity with toothbrushes, toothpaste, perfume, and anything you may need to freshen up after your treatment.

I was finally ready to escape to my island treatment. First, my aesthetician massaged honey and coconut oil into my body. The honey comes from the top of the Waldorf Rooftop and the coconut oil is extra virgin and organic—perfect for ultra hydration. The combination of the coconut-honey mask naturally hydrates, tightens, and firms the skin. I could definitely feel the firming effects. I lay in the coconut honey hive for about 10 minutes, before moving onto the next part of my voyage.

Next was the coconut honey sugar glow. The sugar glow scrub exfoliated and rejuvenated my dry, dead skin while stimulating circulation and detoxification (much needed after a miserable NY winter). After the mask, I took a warm, rain shower rinse.

I returned to my heated bed for a soothing massage using the nourishing coconut oil. I never wanted this treatment to end but after about an hour and 20 minutes, I knew my time was up.

I loved this treatment because every product contained all natural ingredients, which worked amazingly with my sensitive skin. This treatment left my skin feeling soft and silky for the first time in months.

PROS: Skin is soft and silky for days, private suite, long lasting treatment.

CONS: Expensive, but worth the price
