Sustainable Style for Spring

All eyes are on the latest spring fashion as the weather warms up. And while flared jeans, platform pumps, and fringe are all on the “it” list, there’s one style trend that’s standing out among the rest: sustainability. Consumers want to look good and feel good about their purchases. In fact, 63% of consumers prefer to purchase from purpose-driven brands.

That’s why fashion brands across genres are touting the materials and processes used in creating their duds. A prime example? Able Made.

The responsibly-made athleisure brand—which started with producing sustainable socks— just launched its first-ever RTW collection featuring outerwear and bodysuits, leggings, and sweater dresses made using sustainable and upcycled materials like certified organic fleece, cotton, jersey fabric, eucalyptus, and recycled nylon. Plus, they have a sporty spin, so everything is stretchy and soft.

“As we step more into the athleisure category, we are reinforcing our values-driven position on wellness and wellbeing,” said founder Suzanne McKenzie. “But the collection also has a bright, optimistic palette that is in step with what is happening on the runway today.”

Sustainable fashion has taken the industry by storm as it is both good on you and for the environment. According to a recent study, 58% of consumers care about the materials that make their clothes and want them to not be harmful to the planet. And that, along with brands wanting to help the planet, is spurring huge growth for sustainable fashion. The “ethical fashion market” was worth nearly $6.3 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow to $8.2 billion by 2023.
