Beets: Eat just one-third cup everyday to lower cholesterol by up to 40%. Beets, which contain a negligible amount of calories are also a great source of vitamin C, potassium, and iron, with cancer-fighting antioxidant beta­carotenes and fiber.

Carrots: The excellent source of antioxidants protect against cancer and cardiovascular disease, while improving skin and vision. They also reduce blood cholesterol level, relieve constipation, and work to boost the immune system.
