Take a moment to align your spine and pay attention to your body as it touches the seat below you. It is important to lean directly on your sit bones, which are the sharp bones directly under your buttocks. To find the sit bones, place your hands underneath you and rock forward and back. Notice when you rise forward, your body aligns on top of your sit bones; and immediately your back straightens and your chest expands. Now sit back on your tailbone and feel how everything slumps and drops, including your mood! Rise forward again and relax your shoulders. Feel the benefits of good posture as your spine aligns and your spirits lift.
