New You Daily Tip:  Preserve your herbs by using this simple technique.

Don’t be left with a stack of bad herbs after Thanksgiving.  Preserve those herbs and prevent them from browning by freezing them in an ice cube tray with extra virgin olive oil or melted unsalted butter.

Follow these simple steps you can complete in just minutes:

  1. Take a handful of store bought or freshly picked herbs
  2. Chop and organize into piles (you can choose to make herb mixes or use single herbs)
  3. Pack each ice cube tray 2/3 full of herbs
  4. Pour the extra virgin olive or melted unsalted butter into each well
  5. Cover lightly with plastic wrap & freeze overnight
  6. Remove frozen cubes and store into small zip lock bags or freezer containers
  7. Label bags or containers
